Episode #50 | Happy 50th and Being YOU
Go ahead, dare to be authentic. Be the best version of YOU. Each day is a new chance to be more YOU!
Have you ever wondered why certain milestones, such as a 50th birthday, are celebrated? Well, aside from the fact that you have crossed the half-way point of a century, it is also because you have come so far: accumulated a lot of experiences, knowledge and successes while overcoming pitfalls and persevering through many curved balls from life.
We have also come a long way, reached OUR 50th and have become more “US”. We dedicate this episode to you and your being more YOU.
Keep growing, keep scaling and keep daring to be YOU!

Welcome to today’s episode. It’s a milestone. This is our 50th episode. Whoo. And it’s really exciting to be bringing this to you.
You know, Dare To Scale is about so many things to do with business and growth and a whole bunch of things that, you know, can be a little bit dry sometimes. But it’s also about daring to scale you, you the entrepreneur. And you know what, 50 episodes, thank you so much for listening all the way through and supporting us on this journey. And hopefully, you’ll be here for the next 50.
Daring to scale you is an important pillar in what we do in Dare To Scale. And recently, I was actually gifted a book, and today’s episode and like when I read this book, it absolutely resonated with me. And in the context of daring to scale you, I thought, this is something I have to share. The book is by Peter H. Reynolds. And it’s very, very simple title, Be You and I’m going to narrate it because when I read this, it says every single page and every single message simple as the messages are, they resonate 100% in everything that we do.
So here we go, be you. You were born to be so many things. And there’s a beautiful illustration with a bunch of wonderful words and I’m going to read some of them.
Artistic, ambitious, strong, vivacious, feisty, open minded, heroic, colourful, polite, generous, yourself, smart, humble, hungry, cheerful. So many wonderful words over here, and it’s all about you are born to be so many things. And my wish for you, no matter where your journey leads, is for you to always be you. Always be you.
Be ready to take that next step forward to being an amazing human being. Being ready. Be curious. Turn every stone. Ask every why. And keep digging deeply. Discover your own answers. I love that.
Discover your own answers and keep digging deeply. Be curious. Be adventurous. Live a big life. When you are ready. Step outside your comfort zone. Bravely explore new paths and see where they lead you.
Be adventurous. Be connected. Find kindred spirits. Be with those who make you feel like the real you. Love that.
Be with those who make you feel like the real you. Be connected. Be persistent. Keep going. Never stop. Keep going. Never stop. Keep going. Never stop. Beautiful illustration of a boat, totally going through a storm and in the ocean. Beautiful. Never stop. But be persistent.
Be different. Be silly. Be quirky. Be odd. Be unique. Be weird. Be colourful. Be okay with being different. Be just the way you are. Be different. Be kind, and be understanding. Help those around you to be themselves. Listen, then listen some more, learn more about who they are. Be kind and be understanding. Be brave. Try new things. Take a deep breath and plunge forward into new experiences. It gets easier every time you try.
Be brave. Be your own thinker. Think for yourself and set your own unique course. It isn’t always easy, but you’ll be heading in the direction of you. Be your own thinker. Be okay being alone. Take time to be on your own. Hear your own thoughts your inner voice. Listen to your heart. Be okay being alone. Be patient, be patient.
Being more you takes time. Take a deep breath, relax. Let your future unfold at its own pace. It will be worth the wait be patient be okay reaching out for help when you need a helping hand a compassionate ear and encouraging word, reach out be okay reaching out for help.
As you voyage out into the world, remember, no matter what you will always be loved, no matter what you will always be loved. You are ready. So go ahead. Be you. Be very, very you.
And a final word from Peter Reynolds, go ahead, be yourself. Be the best version of you. Each day is a new chance to be more you. And that is absolutely brilliant, because in the Dare To Scale space and the Dare To Scale you space, you can see why this book resonated so strongly with everything that we do. I mean simple things like be okay. Being alone.
Taking strategic time to think about where you are and what your direction needs to be. is about being okay being alone where you can actually focus. Be your own thinker is where that also comes into play. So, so powerful, that be brave. That was the biggest thing that I took away. Be brave, try new things. Take a deep breath and plunge forward into new experiences. It is a wonderful, wonderful life that we have. And it’s a privilege and totally grateful for everything that is happening out here.
I hope this book resonated with you too. And thank you for listening all the way to the end in this our wonderful landmark 50th episode. It has been such an exciting ride so far. And really, really looking forward to having you with us for the next 50.
Take care be safe. And we’ll see you in the next episode. Cheers.
